SUNDAY

6th - 12th Grades (9:45 - 10:45 AM)

Come join us for Bible Class this fall and winter as we have breakfast and fellowship together in the Family Life Center (FLC) and then break into grade level Bible study time.  See below for details.

WEDNESDAY

6th - 12th Grades  (7:00 - 8:00 PM)

Come join us for a time of worship in the Family Life Center (FLC) and then break into separate MS and HS teaching time and small groups.

FCYG Mission Statement

First Colony Youth Group (FCYG):  A place to belong as we Gather, Grow and Go.

  • Gather in larger groups to praise and in smaller groups to connect.  "Keep getting together to worship God so you can encourage, love and find ways to help each other ... " Hebrews 10:25

  • Grow as lifelong, enthusiastic, and deep followers of Jesus.  "... Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."  II Peter 1:8

  • Go make a difference in your family, in our church, and in the world.  "Everyone should use his God-given gifts to serve others."  I Peter 4:10

    FCYG Checkpoints (adapted from "The Seven Checkpoints" by Andy Stanley and Stuart Hall):

    Authentic Faith:

    • Principle: God can be trusted; He will do all He has promised to do. 
    • Question: Are our students trusting God with the critical areas of their lives?
    • Key Passage: Proverbs 3:5-6

    Spiritual Disciplines:

    • Principle: When you see as God sees, you will do as God says.
    • Question: Are our students developing a consistent devotional and prayer life?
    • Key Passage: Romans 12:2

    Moral Boundaries:

    • Principle: Purity paves the way to intimacy.
    • Question: Are our students establishing and maintaining godly, moral boundaries?
    • Key Passage: I Thessalonians 4:3-8

    Healthy Friendships:

    • Principle: Your friendships determine the direction and quality of your life.
    • Question: Are our students establishing healthy friendships and avoiding unhealthy ones?
    • Key Passage: Proverbs 13:20

    Wise Choices:

    • Principle: Walk wisely.
    • Question: Are our students making wise choices in every area of their lives?
    • Key Passage: Ephesians 5:15-17

    Ultimate Authority:

    • Principle: Maximum freedom is found under God's authority.
    • Question: Are our students submitting to the authorities God has placed over them?
    • Key Passage: Romans 13:1-2

    Others First:

    • Principle: When you make yourself nothing, you're really something.
    • Question: Are our students putting the needs of others ahead of their own?
    • Key Passage: Philippians 2:3-11

    Sunday Morning Classes (9:45 - 10:45 AM):

    •  6th - 12th graders meet together  in the Family Life Center (FLC) at 9:45 AM for breakfast and fellowship and then breaks into grade level Bible study time:

    7th Grade - Room F-109 "Genesis" with Teachers Warren & Lisa Cates and Scott & Marcie Finley

    8th Grade - Room F-103/104 "Proverbs and Wisdom Literature" with Teachers Robert & Stacy Beasley and Keith & Christy Perry

    9th Grade - Room F-107 "Freedom Through Authority" with Teachers Ben & Kelly Edmiston

    10th Grade - Room F-101/102 "Romans" with Teachers Kim Brigham and John & LuAnn Park

    7:00 PM:

    • 6th - 12th graders meet in the Family Life Center (FLC) for worship

    7:15 PM:

    • 6th - 8th graders proceed to the Backdoor for their teaching time and small groups
    • 9th - 12th graders stay in the FLC for their teaching time and small groups
