FCYG Mission Statement

First Colony Youth Group exists to join God in:

  • Developing the spiritual lives of adolescents

  • Spurring the growth of healthy families

  • Seeking the lost

Purpose Statement:

The First Colony youth group (FCYG) utilizes a purpose driven ministry approach to thread together aspects of family life ministry, equipping ministry, and small group ministry to create an environment for adolescent spiritual formation and to spur the growth of healthy families.

There is a constant battle for our teenagers’ hearts and lives. When speaking the Gospel to students we try to put the message in a context that is applicable to their lives. The Word of God is the foundation for what we do, whether for education, mission trips, camps, or retreats. We value our teenagers having fun and connecting with each other, but we also want to make sure that we help our students connect with God. We know that is not possible without the partnership of parents, teaching and supporting children as they grow in the admonition of the Lord.

We pray that each student who graduates from First Colony takes with them more than youth group T-shirts and photos; we hope that they will take with them principles to sustain them as their faith matures. We call these Youth Principles We believe that if every teen walks away with these First Principles they will be better equipped to deal with the trials of life and remain faithful to God for an eternity.
