2010 Camp Bandina (1st - 12th Grade)

First Colony's Camp Bandina is Sunday, August 1st through Friday, August 6th. It is two camps within a camp - one for our elementary students and one for our middle school and high school students. Each of these programs will have a variety of activities throughout the day: Bible study, small groups, games, sports, crafts, swimming, free time and lots of great singing (teens will also have service projects in the area).
All cabins at Camp Bandina are air conditioned and have individual beds for campers & counselors. Campers need to bring their own bedding: pillow & sheets or sleeping bag. Cabin assignments will be age appropriate with special needs assessments.
Campers & counselors have the opportunity to go swimming each day in the Medina River. Certified lifeguards will be on duty during all swim times & all campers will be required to pass a simple swim test if they wish to swim. Please remember to pack appropriate swimwear (one-piece for girls or tankini that covers the midriff) and a swimming towel.
First Colony provides transportation for all campers & staff on chartered buses & vans to and from Camp Bandina (including those going on the optional trip to Fiesta Texas on Friday).
- Depart FCCC on Sunday, August 1st (Check-in at 12:30PM - lunch is provided in the Family Life Center)
- Return to FCCC on Friday, August 6th - Bus NOT going to Fiesta Texas will be returning at 1:00 PM - Bus going to Fiesta Texas will be returning between 10:00-10:30 PM. Parents can call the travel hotline (281)276-WORD for travel updates.
Families are welcome to drop their campers off at Camp Bandina from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Sunday and/or pick up their campers from Camp Bandina by 8:30 AM on Friday. Please make sure you note your travel arrangements when you sign up for Camp Bandina.
Cost for Camp Bandina is:
- Campers (1st Grade & Older - '09-'10 school year) - $160 "Regular" fee if register June 7th - July 18th; $170 "Late" fee if register July 19th - August 1st (make all checks payable to FCCC) NOTE: 1st & 2nd Grade must be accompanied by a parent as staff.
- Staff & Pre Campers (up through Kind. - '09-'10 school year if parent is going as staff) - $60
- Maximum $500 per family
- 6th - 12th Graders to Fiesta Texas on Friday - $25 (younger kids can only go if accompanied by parent)
- Price does not include travel meals - 2 if NOT going to Fiesta Texas; 3 if going to Fiesta Texas (remember Fiesta Texas prices are more than regular fast food restaurants)
- Campers do not need to bring any money for snacks while at camp - all meals & snacks are included in the cost of camp.
There are 2 ways to sign up:
- Pick up, fill out & return application forms with your fee (or $50 non-refundable deposit per person) from/to FCYG Central; or

- Staff Application Forms (Note: you can fill out these forms directly from your computer, print them out & return to FCYG Central with your fee).

Scholarships are available for up to half of the cost of the camp (not to include Fiesta Texas). If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please download form HERE, fill it out & turn it in to the church office.
Packing list & Information Letter
All Staff going to Camp Bandina must watch the the sexual abuse training video and take a short test prior to coming to one of the following training sessions (NOTE: if you cannot make one of these meetings, you will have make sure all your paperwork is turned in prior to leaving for Bandina & attend a training session at Camp Bandina):
- Sunday morning, July 18th (9:45 - 10:45 AM) Open area (C-Wing)
