Small Groups

Experiencing Life Together

At First Colony, we value relationships and are committed to experiencing life together in community. We were not created to be alone, rather we were created to have close, authentic relationships with God and one another.  Over fifty times in the New Testament the phrase “one another” describes our relationship to other believers. We love one another, encourage one another, pray for one another, accept one another, and build up one another. We can do this best in the context of a small group!

What is a Small group?

Small groups at First Colony Church of Christ are the building blocks of the church: the smaller unit in which our members experience life together. You can grow, worship, learn, pray, serve and more, all in the context of your small group. Group members typically live near each other and are in a similar life stage to promote daily relationship.

When do Groups Meet?

Small groups meet at various times throughout the week depending on what is best for the members of the group. Some groups choose to meet on the church campus on Wednesday evenings in order to take advantage of our fantastic Children’s and Youth Ministries

Types of Small Groups

Most small groups at First Colony are called “First Families” and come in many varieties.  We also have specialty groups that meet for a more specific purpose like support groups and recovery groups.  You are certain to find a group into which you will fit and connect.

How do I Get into a Group?

To join a group you simply need to sign up. During one of our small group campaigns you can sign up in the Gathering Hall outside of the Worship Center.  Once your sign-up is received you will be contacted about groups that fit you best.
