QR Codes at First Colony

QR codes are popping up everywhere these days. You may have seen them on products at the grocery store, the shelf tags at Best Buy or maybe even under the hood of your car.  QR stands for quick reference and is basically like the UPC barcode that we are used to seeing on everything we buy, it just is able to hold more information than just a few numbers. A QR code can be scanned by your smart phone (iPhone, Android, Blackberry and more) to quickly take you to a specific piece of information.

We will be using QR codes some around the church to make life a little easier for the growing number of smart phone users. QR codes can instantly guide your phone to a website without the need to enter the address. They can also be used to quickly enter calendar or contact information.
