Joel desires that every family would grow in their knowledge of Jesus as Savior, Friend, and Hero. He is the product of public, private, and home-school education. Joel served in full-time children’s and family ministry for over 20 years. Along the way, he also enjoyed opportunities like co-hosting a parent talk radio show in Portland, OR, teaching as an adjunct professor at Multnomah University, educating as an English teacher/missionary in Moscow, Russia, and writing curriculum for Character First Education.

Joel and his wife, Melinda, immensely enjoyed becoming Texans with their ten children, two birds, two turtles, two fish, one rabbit, and one lizard. When he is not chasing his children, he enjoys Friday date nights with his wonderful wife, cooking and grilling, researching faith-building object lessons, and sports.

Joel has ministered at First Colony for over six years.
