Part-Time Children's Minister

Guess who’s a native Houstonian? Yep, that’s me! I do love the Greater Houston Area and the opportunities and diversity of cultures it offers!

I developed a heart for loving Christ and others at a young age. That passion led me on a path of serving children since my teenage years—Bible classes, Vacation Bible School, the bus ministry and mission trips. Eventually, God called me into full-time ministry. Last year I returned to the FCCC and FC children’s ministry staff, but I previously served as the FCCC children’s minister for almost 16 years.

My passion is and always has been about instilling faith in a gracious, loving heavenly Father.  As I matured in my faith and teaching children, I began to focus equally on encouraging and assisting parents as the primary faith teachers of their own children. It’s a win-win-win situation for the child, the parent and the church. One other aspect of ministry that delights my soul is nurturing and developing a heart for service in both adults and children.

As for me, any time I get to experience the calming affects of water, either by swimming or simply sitting along a seashore, it is a fantastic day!  Even better if it is in a foreign country as I enjoy exploring this world! Other interests include reading books from many genres as well as dabbling at painting. Plus I absolutely love, love, love to play games! Each of these hobbies brings joy to my life.

My family is the best!!!  Isn’t that what everyone says on Wheel of Fortune?!!!  Dale and I will be married 40 years in June. If you were to walk into our home while my daughters, Mallory and Lauren, and son-in-law, Nathanael, were visiting, you would would find good food, loud music and a group around the kitchen table playing games. Well, and as you know, families are one of the best gifts from God!
