Grant grew up at First Colony, and he considers it a great honor and privilege to serve his home church.

Grant graduated from Texas A&M University with a business marketing degree and then went to Abilene Christian University for his master’s degree in Christian ministry, with a focus on domestic missions. Overall, Grant has been in ministry for over 20 years, beginning in college with Aggies for Christ, continuing with youth, college, and mission internships at First Colony, serving as a worship minister in Abilene, and now working at First Colony as a full-time staff member since 2010.

Today, Grant is the Outreach & Missions Minister at First Colony, overseeing First Colony's five international mission points (Nepal, Haiti, Honduras, Uganda, and Colombia) and First Colony’s local mission partners. Grant’s job includes everything from coordinating overseas building projects to leading foreign mission trips for our members, to teaching evangelism to elementary-age kids who are just learning to share their faith.

Grant loves his job and has been passionate about mission work for a long time. When he was just 17, he went on a mission trip to Russia and encountered the Holy Spirit in a powerful way. Since that trip, he loves to say that his life has never been the same! It was there in Russia that his passion for obedience to the Lord and going on missions began. Since then, he has been blessed to travel to 30 countries and participate in missions all around the world.

Grant has been married to his beautiful bride, Laura, since 2007, and the Lord has blessed them with five wonderful children—Eden, James, Isabel, Abigail, and Rosalind—and an awesome Golden Retriever named Hunter.

In his spare time, Grant loves to coach his son’s baseball team, cheer his daughters on in basketball and track, listen to his family sing and play piano, hunt and fish with the family, and enjoy God’s most beautiful creation: the beautiful Texas outdoors.
